Rakthasali is a light red rice. Ancient and Ayurvedic medicines has stated about the curative values of Rakthasali. The rice seed Rakthasali mentioned in the Charaka Samhita is said to be 3000 years old and is best for curing many diseases. 

It’s nutritional properties and medicinal value is considered to be good for health care and beauty.

It is also said to be beneficial for mothers who are feeding. It contains eight amino acids, antioxidants and a lot of minerals

The Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge published in July 2013 has described the studies about Rakthasali.
